Cast bronze, wooden and metal sculptures are suspended off a wall-mounted wooden peg rack hung above a hand-carved bench. The piece was conceived for a hallway, a place often frequented but never truly seen. The hallway is an overlooked domestic space but in fact, it is the entry way to the intimate world which reflects whomever resides within. I wanted to create Glyph to set the tone for curiosity and wonder from the very entry point of a personal space. Confronting this work in this setting brings unexpected joy. The sculptures serve to take the sense of domestic familiarity that we have in connection with the bench and pegs and subvert them.
