Commissioned by adidas and creative agency Johannes Leonardo, we designed the lounge space of the newest adidas Originals New York flagship.
Johannes Leonardo wanted us to find a physical way of expressing the brand direction they developed of ‘creating the future by reinventing the past’.
In order to reflect the city’s urban architectural and cultural story, we revisited and reinterpreted iconic architectural landmarks, from the classic NYC stoop and subway seats cast in concrete to a 1:1 scale resin cast of the city’s street, right down to the details of the manhole covers. We succeeded in creating a space that looked to the future whilst heavily relying on the past.
